Mr. Larry G. Thompson, Jr. was raised in New Orleans, enjoying the unique spices and flavors of their cuisine. He has been drawn to food
for several years, developing his talents in the kitchens of House of Blues and Margaritaville. In April 2019, Thompson began pursuing a seafood business, forging relationships with local shrimp boat owners and becoming a wholesaler for New Orleans’ businesses and consumers.
In August 2019, Thompson launched Mr. Shrimp, realizing his dream to bring a unique menu offering to people in and around the New Orleans market.
In November of 2023, Mr. Thompson opened Mr. Shrimp's Kitchen located in the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center food court. This will enable people from all over the country to sample his unique cuisine.
At Mr. Shrimp's Kitchen, we specialize in traditional cuisine from New Orleans also defined as Creole cuisine. Creole cuisine is a fusion, unique to the New Orleans area, of French, Spanish, West African, and Native American cuisine. It was also influenced by later immigrants from Germany, Italy (particularly Sicily), and other locations.
The Shrimp Rich Boy is Mr. Shrimp’s twist on the staple Po’ Boy. This sandwich is served on a large toasted roll, a bed of lettuce and has pickles, tomatoes, and Fries on the side.
The Fried Catfish dish is coated in Mr. Shrimp’s special creole seasoning, deep fried, and is accompanied by french fries that have their own special seasoning.

You haven’t really experienced New Orleans if you haven’t had a seafood boil. There are four options to choose from based on your appetite. These dishes all contain shrimp, potatoes, and corn and then you get to add beef sausage, and our succulent fall off the bone turkey necks, and the largest Dungeness crab you may have ever seen. Come hungry and leave full!

Experienced Cahiers
As a Cashier at Mr. Shrimp's Kitchen, you will be responsible for greeting and assisting customers, filling drink orders, and playing an essential role in our front house. Cashiers have a critical role at Mr. Shrimp's Kitchen as they guide the customer experience and interact with each customer who visits our Restaurant.
Experienced Prep Cooks
Our Prep Cooks portion and efficiently execute our recipes to standard in our scratch based kitchen to guarantee our delicious food is properly prepared and plated for our guests to enjoy. They also ensure the highest food safety and quality protocol is being adhered to. As a Prep Cook with Mr. Shrimp's Kitchen, you will enjoy a career path that challenges you as a culinary team member and facilitates your growth in development.
